I am a Stop Motion director, animator and producer of content for film, television, and digital platforms. For 20+ years I have collaborated with talented artists on many award-winning productions.
I am a partner at Wonder Engine Studios: A full-service animation provider that works in parallel with my company AFI Toronto. In previous years, I worked extensively as senior director at Cuppa Coffee Studios.
During the first decade of my career in Stop Motion, I directed long-format animation for Disney, Teletoon, and Nickelodeon. Notable productions include Gemini winner Life's a Zoo, Annie nominee Jojo's Circus, Pulcinella winner Rick & Steve, and Gold Remi winner The Devil's Due.
During the second decade I branched out into original content, music videos, advertising, commercial campaigns and public-service announcements. Clients include Sesame Street, the Electrical Safety Authority, the Government of Canada, and the MMSB.
I am a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago where I received a Master of Fine Arts degree, a Merit Scholarship, and the James Nelson Raymond Fellowship. Prior to that I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Windsor, and a Board of Governors medal from its School of Visual Arts.
I am married to Mahsa Ghorbankarimi (Creative Director at SpinVFX / Actress). We have a daughter, Mina Gorelick.
